Carrot Raita / Salad
4 Large fresh Carrots – shredded
1 Hot fresh green chili pepper – thinly chopped
2 Cups yogurt
1/8 teaspoon salt
Fry Ingredients (Fodni/Tadkaa):
1/8 teaspoon mustard seeds
1/8-teaspoon cumin seeds
1/8 teaspoon turmeric
½ Tablespoon vegetable oil
Heat oil in a skillet over medium high heat for a minute or till hot.
Lower the heat to low.
Add mustard seeds, cumin seeds.
As soon as the seeds start to sizzle add turmeric. Stir well and turn the heat off.
Add shredded carrot and chopped chili. Stir/mix the ingredients well.
Transfer the contents into a serving bowl.
Add salt and yogurt. Mix well.
Serve it as a side dish.
